Kizzire wins Sony Open in 6-hole playoff

HONOLULU (AP) Patton Kizzire figured he was in for a long day when his putting stroke wasn't up to his standards.

He just wasn't expecting the Sony Open to go this long.

The longest playoff in more than five years on the PGA Tour finally ended Sunday when Kizzire two-putted for par from just off the green on the par-3 17th hole, and James Hahn's 8-foot putt to keep it going caught the right edge of the lip and spun away.

Golf Channel cameramen walk out on work

HONOLULU (AP) Union workers for video and audio production at Golf Channel events walked out Sunday over stalled contract negotiations, leading to limited coverage of the final round at the Sony Open and two other events in the Bahamas and Florida.

Golf Channel said it has been negotiating an agreement for nine months with International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, a union for tournament technicians at golf tournaments, such as the camera crew. Read More...

Paisley wins SA Cup for first Euro title

JOHANNESBURG (AP) With his wife as his caddie, Chris Paisley beat the challenge of home favorite Branden Grace to win the South African Open by three shots on Sunday and claim a first European Tour title.

Ahead by one overnight, Paisley increased the gap at the top with a final-round 6-under-par 66 at Glendower Golf Club in Johannesburg to finish 21 under overall. The Englishman made six birdies and didn't drop a shot in a flawless finish on the way to his breakthrough win on the tour. Read More...

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) Europe retained the EurAsia Cup after putting on a sensational showing on the final day to tame Asia 14 to 10, courtesy of eight wins in the 12 singles matches on Sunday.

Parel wins Diamond Resorts Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Scott Parel beat fellow PGA Tour Champions player Scott Dunlap on the first hole of a playoff Sunday to complete a wire-to-wire victory in the Diamond Resorts Invitational.

The 52-year-old Parel won the 32-player professional division with a par on the extra hole, the 203-yard 18th at Tranquilo Golf Club. Dunlap hit a fat shot short into water and made a double bogey. Read More...
